The Chuck Ueltschey Scholarship for Municipal and County-Elected Officials
Through the Chuck Ueltschey Scholarship, Mississippi Power is sponsoring a municipal or county elected official from each Mississippi Power division. This scholarship is named after Chuck Ueltschey, a Mississippi Power retiree, who passed away in 2015, was created to honor Chuck’s dedication and commitment to economic and community development. Chuck spent nearly 40 years of his life working with local elected officials throughout the Mississippi Power service territory, and this scholarship allows that work to continue.
The True South BEDC is an introductory course exposing participants to the fundamentals and practice of creating jobs, increasing wealth, improving the tax base, and enhancing a community’s quality of life. It is the first step in pursuing professional certification in economic development.
